Title: Love Medley
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Sirius / Remus. James / Lucius
Rating: R
Notes: Silly fic! Very early fic of mine, not my best work. Certainly not intended as a serious piece. Spoof of movie 'Top Gun' with references to 'Moulin Rouge' included. Sirius being Maverick and James being Goose.

Sirius extended an arm to halt James as they reached the doorway to the Great Hall.
“Alright, the bet is twenty Knuts.” A foolish grin spread across Sirius’ lips. “The first one to land a sexy Gryffindor of your choice.”

James’ brow raised. “Sirius, who are you planning to win over with that witty charm of yours?”

“Surely you know,” Sirius smirked and shot a glance into the crowded hall. “Come on Prongs, a bet’s a bet.”

“I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem plausible, Padfoot.” James folded his arms. “In the middle of lunch?”

“Jamesy, I think he’s lost that loving feeling…” Sirius’ gaze was fixed on a frail looking Gryffindor with honey-blonde hair.

“He’s lost…no, he hasn’t.” James shook his head and followed Sirius’ eyes to Remus Lupin, who was lost in conversation with Peter.

“Yes he has,” Sirius sniggered.

“He has not lost that love—”

“Nope, he’s lost it man.” Sirius flashed James a rakish grin and advanced towards the Gryffindor table with a sway in his step.

James’ brow furrowed as he frowned to himself. “I hate it when he does that!”

Sirius cleared his throat and tapped Remus on the back. “Excuse me.”

James sidled up to him, giving Sirius’ selected target a pitiful smile. Sirius withdrew his wand from his robe pocket and aimed the tip at his throat, “*Sonorus*.”

Then Sirius stole the attention of the entire body of students as he exploded into song. “You never close your eyes any more when I kiss your lips. There’s no tenderness like before in your fingertips.”

Remus was flushing a brilliant crimson, causing heat to radiate from his cheeks. Peter sat opposite, gaping at them with a small smile on his lips. Sirius continued to sing, his clear voice filling the room. “You’re trying hard not to show it…but baby believe me, I know it…You’ve lost that loving feeling, whoa that loving feeling.”

James’ voice joined Sirius’ as Padfoot took the werewolf’s trembling hand. He looked down at his friend. The hall was echoing the acoustic melody as Peter and several other Gryffindor students encircled Sirius and backed up their vocals. “You’ve lost that loving feeling now its gone…gone…gone…whoa.”

“Badoom, badoom, badoom, doom.” The scarlet and gold students echoed as Sirius continued.

He stooped onto one knee and looked up at the wide-eyed Remus. “Baby, baby I get down on my knees for you.” At this point he raised Lupin’s hand and kissed it lightly, grinning from ear to ear.

“Sirius!” Remus breathed, exasperated and embarrassed. “Sit down! And turn off your Sonorus.”

“Thankyou, thankyou!” Sirius turned to the crowd of admiring girls that were squealing and raving about how lucky Remus was. He threw up his arms in victory before a hand grasped his robes and yanked him downwards.

James was doubled over laughing, his cheeks burning as he took a seat beside Lily.
“That was amazing,” the red haired Gryffindor smiled at him. “You’ve got a wonderful voice. Both of you.”

Sirius winked at James and leaned over to his friend. “You owe me twenty Knuts, Prongsy.”

“I can’t believe you did that!” James chortled. “I’ll give you thirty for that effort. Didn’t know you could sing so well, Padfoot.”

“I’m full of surprises,” Sirius purred and snaked an arm around Remus’ neck to pull him closer. He ruffled the other boy’s sandy blonde hair and smiled possessively.

“Of course you are,” the other black haired Gryffindor laughed. “You’re Sirius Black, remember?”

Sirius sniggered and turned his attention back to the shaking Remus. “What’s wrong, Remy?”

A shy smile played on Remus’ lips. “Thankyou, Padfoot. That was very brave, but I can’t help but feel a little embarrassed.”

“Why, Remy?” Sirius looked around the hall. The students had all resumed eating and were chatting busily as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. “Everyone knows what *I’m* like.”

“I suppose they do,” Remus laughed quietly and prodded his lunch with his fork.

“Mister Black, Mister Potter,” the strict voice of a professor interrupted their conversation. “Explain yourselves.”

“Explain myself? I…well I was declaring my romantic intentions towards Remus.” Sirius smiled smugly.

James looked up from his discussion with Lily and Peter to protest but let Sirius do the talking.

“Be that as it may,” their Divination Professor frowned; masking the amusement in her voice. “You were behaving inappropriately and disturbing others around you. Keep your dramatic impulses to your own time and you won’t find yourself on detention.”

“Detention?” Sirius spat incredulously. “For singing? But…but Dumbledore loves music. Ask him! You can’t tell me that *he* wasn’t impressed by my outstanding display of courage and charisma.”

“Mister Black, you can practice your charm tonight, while you clean the Astronomy dome if you wish. I expect yourself and Mister Potter will be there by ten to avoid losing any house points.”

Sirius’ mouth hung open, glaring at her back as she swept back to the staff table. “Stupid old bat! I hate her. That prissy insane bitch.”

Remus smiled. “Well, I suppose you should have expected that.”

“Moony, come with me to the Astronomy tower tonight.” Sirius’ eyes were locked with Remus’ golden amber ones.

“But Talish will see me, I’m not on detention.” Remus stared back into the deep brown gaze he was trapped in.

“Have you forgotten the cloak?” Sirius turned to James who was complaining to Peter. “Can Remus borrow your cloak?”

“Yeah, alright. Let’s go to class before you, Mister trouble maker, get us into any more shit.” James agreed as he led the group of Gryffindors out of the Great Hall.

“Prongsy calling *me* a trouble maker?” Sirius laughed sarcastically. “Yeah, I—”

“That was absolutely dazzling. Wonderful performance on your part, Black.” A voice drawled, stopping them in the middle of the corridor.

Sirius spun around to meet the owner of the familiar voice. Lucius Malfoy, flanked by Severus Snape and Slatero Quirrell. “A little beyond your stretch, Malfoy? Sorry, not something you’d ever do. A coward like you would never have the guts.”

“I wouldn’t push it, Black.” Severus warned in a threatening tone. “That was superb, you displaying openly your attraction to boys.”

“You should speak, Snape. Look how close you’re standing to Malfoy. Hell, you three are inseparable. Enjoy the orgies?”

Slatero choked on his breath and took a small step behind Lucius. Lucius clenched his fists. “Black, you’ve got another thing coming.”

“Try me, Malfoy.” With lightning speed, Sirius had his wand out of his robes and aimed at Lucius, who had moved just as fast and mirrored the Gryffindor's stance.

“Expelliarmus!” Lucius spat, and caused Sirius’ wand to spiral from his grasp and hit the wall.

“Malfoy! Black! Enough!” Professor Falikan stepped between them. “What do you think you’re doing? This is a corridor! Detention!”

Sirius stomped his foot in protest. “Sir! I was provoked! Besides, I already have detention.”

“Ohhh, double detention.” Lucius waved his arm in the air and sneered. “Someone’s getting what they deserve.”

“Malfoy, shut it.” The professor turned to the blonde Slytherin. “Black, where’s your detention?”

“Astronomy tower, ten o’clock tonight.” Sirius looked at Remus, who was staring at the ground innocently.

“You can join Black on his detention, Malfoy.” Falikan growled and then made his way to the staff room.

James grabbed Sirius’ arm as he lunged at Malfoy. “C’mon, let’s leave these gits to sulk.”

“That’s *not* fair,” Sirius glowered. “He was slandering my excellent singing.”

“At least he didn’t get away with it,” Peter noted.

“Well, it’s ten to ten,” James read his luminous watch face. “We better head up to the tower.”

Sirius wrapped James’ cloak around Remus’ shoulders, rendering him invisible. “See you later, Wormtail.”

“Can I come?” Peter asked hopefully.

Sirius looked at James and pursed his lips. “Err…well. You aren’t in trouble, surely you don’t want to come on a detention.”

“But I want to come,” the smaller boy smiled. “Please?”

“No, you better not.” James said softly.

“But, Remus isn’t in trouble. He’s going.”

“Remus is different,” Sirius said plainly.

Peter looked slightly hurt. “Oh, okay.”

“Don’t worry Wormy,” Remus peered out through the front of the cloak and smiled. “It’s not you.”

“Have fun,” Peter called as the trio disappeared through the portrait hole.

And the three boys trooped in silence up the flights of stairs; each lost in their own thoughts.

Remus’ heart was racing. He had nearly died of shock that afternoon in the Great Hall when Sirius had approached him like he had. But it was in Sirius’ nature to do things like that. It was probably just an expression of his friendship in a typically Sirius fashion. Still, he had been delivering him flirtatious looks all week.

James’ stomach was churning at the thought of Lucius joining their detention. He admired Malfoy, with his good looks and talent at Quidditch and had been battling back a crush since their third year. Of course, Lucius felt nothing more than loathing and rivalry towards James. He would only end up disappointed in the end and as far as James could see it wasn’t worth it.

Sirius was walking with a spring in his step, eager to reach the tower. He felt like crying out to the world and announcing his love for Remus Lupin. His confidence was blooming and he was close to certain that Remus held similar feelings for him. He would find out, of course. Once he had Lucius and James out of the way. He pondered the thought of offering to take Lucius and James’ detention for them, but then they would have to get past Professor Talish. Sirius was in no mood to assist Lucius Malfoy in any way.

Peter paced the common room, muttering to himself. Sirius could be very domineering sometimes and as much as Peter admired him for the strength he would never have, he couldn’t help feel a little left out. James was always kind and strove to be a good person. But Remus always made sure he didn’t feel outcast, in fact Peter thought Remus was the kindest of the Marauders.

He didn’t want to sit on his own all night, so he crept outside the common room door and waited to follow his friends. Peeves was skirting up and down the corridor and delaying his immediate pursuit.

Upon reaching the Divination classroom and being ushered through to the Astronomy platform, the four boys were unexpectedly left alone as the Divinations Professor had other matters to contend with.

The two Gryffindors and the lone Slytherin, who was unaware of the third Gryffindor, stood in uncomfortable silence. Sirius was about to offer his services to replace James and Lucius when Remus stripped off the cloak.

“What the fuck?” Lucius had been staring up at the dome roof and had not noticed the figure appearing from nowhere. “Since when are you supposed to be here?”

“Let’s not bicker or waste time, let’s just get this over and done with,” James spoke in a serious tone. “Maybe if we worked in pairs we would get it done quicker.”

“I’m going with Remus!” Sirius declared immediately. “Err…Sorry Prongsy.”

“Never mind,” James smiled blandly. “I’ll go with you, Lucius.”

Lucius was muttering to himself about being trapped with the Gryffindors when James put a hand on his arm. The Slytherin lept back and yelped as if he had been burned by hot water. “Don’t *touch* me.”

“Oh, get a room.” Sirius teased.

Lucius glared at Sirius before turning back to James who was badgering him to help. “Whatever, Potter.”

The uneasy silence that had settled between the group was interrupted as the Divinations Professor stuck her head through the door. “Two of you boys come and scrub the stairs. They have been in need of a clean for quite some time now. Potter, Malfoy, you two can do that. Black, you’re better up here alone.”

Sirius couldn’t believe his luck as the other pair was separated into a different room. Talish had not noticed Remus standing beside Sirius and therefore had left, content with the arrangements of the detention.

The black haired boy bounded over to the doorway and shut the open door. He pointed his wand at the small gap in the stone near the entrance and repeated the words the Divinations Professor had uttered countless times during their lessons. The dome roof opened to reveal the night sky, glittering and sparkling above the pair. Sirius grinned widely at Remus, who was standing on the centre of the stone platform, looking up at the universe surrounding him.

Sirius tilted his head, letting the pale moon melt into his features as he took a few steps towards Remus. He began to sing, projecting his voice against the stone tower, “All you need is love. All you need is love…”

Remus looked at Sirius, giving him a coy smile. “We’ve got to get this tower cleaned.”

“All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.”

“Sirius,” Remus giggled and shook his head.

Sirius raised his voice, “I was made for loving you baby, you were made for loving me.”

“The only way of loving me baby, is to pay a lovely fee.” Remus sang in barely a whisper, his cheeks coloured and he turned back to the sky as Sirius circled him.

“In the name of love, one night in the name of love.”

“Padfoot, we’ll get into trouble.” Remus’ heart was thumping violently against his ribcage, threatening to explode.

Sirius swept around Remus, brushing his hand across his back and then lept up onto the high ledge of the tower. He held onto the telescope and titled his head back, extending one hand to the heavens as he sang out to the world. “Love lifts us up where we belong. Where eagles fly on a mountain high. We could be heroes.”

“Love makes us act like we are fools. And it certainly gets to you, Paddy.” Remus stepped forward, his courage rising within him as he looked up to Sirius.

Sirius’ voice rose to an incredible volume, his melody seeping through the walls. “We should be lovers.”

“Do you really mean that?” Remus breathed. Surely Sirius was only jesting, he’d been in a wild mood all day.

“We should be lovers! And that’s a fact.” Sirius stretched out a hand to Remus, who clambered onto the wall beside him. They balanced precariously, high above the grounds of Hogwarts. “We could steal time, just for this night.”

“We could be lovers for ever and ever.” Sirius looked into Remus’ wide glowing eyes. “I-ay-I will alwaaaays lo—ove you!”

The black haired Gryffindors’ chest heaved with effort, he squeezed Remus’ hand and turned to the moon. “Can you feel the love tonight? The peace the evening brings. My world for once, in perfect harmony with all its living things.”

Remus beamed incredulously at Sirius. This was certainly not what he had imagined would happen in the wake of a detention. Oh, the things Sirius Black dreamed up. It was truly amazing. The moon was new and far from threatening, the breeze was gentle and the evening warm. Remus would remember this night.

“You’re beautiful, Moony.” Sirius whispered, caressing his cheek with his thumb.

“Are you serious?” Remus breathed.

“Yeah, I am. Sirius Black,” he laughed. “How could I not be serious?”

“I—I …thankyou, Paddy.” The honey blonde haired Gryffindor murmured.

Sirius wrapped his arms around Remus’ waist and tilted his head; he laid a gentle kiss on the corner of the other boy’s lips. Then another above his closed eye before his tongue met with Remus’ lips.

The pair dropped onto the stone floor, Sirius atop Remus. Their mouths locked and hands roamed in a fervent manner. Remus broke the kiss to whisper against Sirius’ lips, “I love you, Padfoot.”

“I love you too, Remy.” Sirius smiled and drew him closer.

Meanwhile, a very startled James was being seduced behind the closed door separating the four boys.

Peter had stumbled through the doorway and tripped over Lucius. Terrified of the injuries he might suffer as a result of the Slytherin, he stumbled in shock through the door and collapsed on the Astronomy platform.

His eyes widened at the sight of his friends entangled before him. He got up quickly and made for the Gryffindor common room as he heard a distinct bellow.

“PETTIGREW!!!”
